Duroflex Limited, the company behind leading sleep and comfort solution brands Duroflex and Sleepyhead, has announced the appointment of Jacob George as its new Chairman and Managing Director. The move marks a new chapter for the company as it continues to strengthen its leadership structure and scale its innovation-led growth.

A Strategic Leadership Transition

The appointment follows the stepping down of Mathew Chandy, who served as Chairman and Managing Director for a decade and played a pivotal role in transforming Duroflex into a modern, digitally driven brand. Chandy will continue to contribute to the company as a full-time Director. The board-approved leadership transition underscores Duroflex’s commitment to continuity, innovation, and forward-thinking leadership.

Under Jacob George’s guidance, the company aims to continue expanding its presence across India and further solidify its reputation as a leader in the sleep solutions market.

A Decade of Growth and Vision

Having been with Duroflex for more than ten years, Jacob George has been instrumental in driving the company’s strategic growth. As Whole-Time Director for Growth and Strategy between 2018 and 2022, he led several key initiatives, including Duroflex’s westward expansion, the acquisition of a major manufacturing facility in central India, and the company’s digital transformation.

A Leader with Vision

Speaking about his elevation, Jacob George said, “It is an honour to take on this role at such a pivotal time for Duroflex. We have built a strong foundation across finance, operations, and teams, and the opportunities in India’s sleep solutions market are immense. I am grateful for Mathew’s mentorship and the trust placed in me by the board. Together, we are ready to power the next phase of Duroflex’s journey.”

Jacob’s experience within Duroflex reflects his ability to bridge strategy with execution, fostering innovation while maintaining business stability. His leadership style focuses on collaboration, long-term vision, and building high-performing teams that deliver both growth and purpose.

Duroflex’s Innovation-Led Growth

Under its new leadership, Duroflex continues to redefine India’s sleep and comfort category with a strong focus on technology and health-oriented design.
