Reliance Consumer Products Limited, the fast moving consumer goods arm of Reliance Industries, has officially entered Indias pet care market with the launch of Waggies, a new pet food brand positioned at the intersection of science backed nutrition and affordability.
The company said Waggies has been built with a clear promise of global quality at everyday prices, aimed at pet parents who want complete and balanced nutrition without stretching household budgets. The portfolio is designed to deliver value driven pricing while maintaining a focus on superior ingredients and holistic health.
According to Reliance Consumer Products, Waggies recipes are formulated on scientific principles and enhanced with herbs, DHA for brain development, essential vitamins and highly digestible ingredients. The formulations are intended to support overall health, energy and wellbeing, while also addressing specific needs such as digestive support and coat care.
Ketan Mody, executive director at Reliance Consumer Products, said the brand is built to deliver enhanced nutrition with affordability at its core.
“Waggies is formulated to deliver superior value, balancing enhanced nutrition with affordability. It comes with key benefits of extra protein, prebiotics for digestive support, and provides balanced all day energy along with joint, skin and coat health,” he said.

Mody added that the mission is rooted in access. “We believe every pet must have access to the right nutrition, and every pet parent must have access to global quality products without digging deep into their pockets. Developed after extensive scientific research and priced affordably, Waggies and Waggies Pro will soon be the preferred choice for every pet parent.”
The philosophy behind the brand, articulated as From Few Households to Many, underlines Reliance intent to widen the base of pet owners who can regularly purchase quality pet food rather than relying on occasional premium buys.
Pricing reflects that approach. The Waggies range starts at 199 rupees per kilogram, with smaller one hundred gram trial packs at twenty rupees to encourage first time adoption. Waggies Pro, the premium tier within the line up, will start at 249 rupees.
The launch comes as Indias pet care category accelerates on the back of rising pet ownership and a sharper focus on pet health and wellness. A recent report by Redseer Strategy Consultants projects that the market will double to seven billion dollars by 2028, from three point five billion dollars at present. The number of pets in Indian homes has risen to thirty two million in 2024, up from twenty six million in 2019, with premiumisation and subscription based services emerging as important growth drivers.

By combining Reliance distribution and pricing muscle with a science first positioning, Waggies is aiming to bridge the gap between premium pet nutrition and everyday accessibility, and stake a claim in what is quickly becoming one of the countrys most active consumer categories.
