A New Era Of Food Transparency

Zomato has unveiled its latest innovation, Healthy Mode, designed to guide users toward better food choices. The feature provides detailed nutritional breakdowns for dishes on the platform, including grammage, item descriptions, and a Healthy Score that ranks meals from Low to Super. For the first time, a food delivery platform is offering nutritional insights powered by AI and large language models, making healthy eating more accessible than ever.

Addressing The Demand For Healthy Eating

The move comes at a time when urban consumers, particularly in the 18 to 45 age group, are seeking healthier dining options but often struggle with a lack of clarity. By adding nutritional transparency, Zomato aims to move beyond simply satisfying cravings and towards making food choices more meaningful. The Healthy Score provides a quick, easy-to-understand indicator that empowers users to select meals aligned with their lifestyle goals.

Zomato’s Commitment To Better Food

Aditya Mangla, CEO of Zomato, highlighted the purpose behind the initiative, stating, “For years, we made it easy to get what you craved, but too often, not what your body needed. That’s no longer good enough. Healthy Mode is our commitment to close that gap, to make it simple, transparent, and meaningful to eat well. Every dish now carries a Healthy Score, so ‘better food’ isn’t just a phrase, it’s real, measurable, and purposeful. We’ll continue listening to our customers to keep evolving how we make healthy eating effortless, everywhere.”

The Road Ahead

Currently launched in Gurgaon, Healthy Mode is set to expand into other key markets soon. The rollout is aligned with Zomato’s broader mission of “Better food for more people,” aiming to make healthy eating a daily practice rather than an occasional choice. By merging advanced AI capabilities with consumer insights, Zomato is setting a new benchmark in how food delivery platforms can influence healthier lifestyles.
