The Mathrubhumi Printing and Publishing Co. Ltd. has elevated Sudeep Kumar to Vice President – Media Solutions, marking a significant milestone in a distinguished 25-year journey with the organisation. In his expanded mandate, Kumar will now oversee revenue monetisation across the group’s print and events businesses—two verticals that remain essential to Mathrubhumi’s influence and scale in the Indian media landscape.
A seasoned sales and marketing professional, Kumar brings more than two decades of deep experience across space selling, media development, and integrated brand solutions. His expertise spans print, radio, television, and digital sales, giving him a comprehensive understanding of audience behaviour, advertiser needs, and category shifts. Over the years, he has earned a reputation for building high-performing teams, leading talent acquisition, training, and influencing channel development strategies across multiple regions.
Kumar’s journey at Mathrubhumi began in 1995, soon after completing his postgraduate degree in business administration. From his early years, he was involved in core revenue-driving functions, working closely with marketing and editorial teams to build offerings that matched advertiser demand. His progression across roles ensured deep exposure to multiple markets, consumer clusters, and regional advertising dynamics—equipping him to lead monetisation at a national scale.

The Mathrubhumi Group itself is one of India’s most diverse and respected media conglomerates. Its portfolio spans Mathrubhumi Daily, Mathrubhumi News TV, Club FM Radio, Mathrubhumi Online, Kappa Originals, Mathrubhumi Books, and 11 other publications. With strong regional trust and nationwide cultural influence, the company continues to play a pivotal role in shaping media consumption across South India.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Kumar has held important industry roles that reflect his passion for the advertising ecosystem. He previously served as the President of the Advertising Club of Kochi—one of the country’s oldest advertising bodies—where he contributed to strengthening industry dialogue and talent development. He also serves as a trustee of the Pepper Creative Awards Trust, which recognises excellence in South Indian advertising and design.
As VP – Media Solutions, Kumar is expected to focus on strengthening advertiser relationships, building differentiated event-led revenue streams, accelerating integrated print-digital offerings, and modernising sales processes to meet the evolving demands of brands. His leadership comes at a critical time when traditional media companies are reinventing their value propositions while navigating market fragmentation, digital competition, and shifting advertiser budgets.
With his extensive institutional knowledge and strong industry relationships, Sudeep Kumar’s elevation aligns with Mathrubhumi’s strategic priorities: grow sustainably, innovate within legacy verticals, and reinforce the group’s leadership in South India’s media ecosystem.
