Kroll has released its much awaited 2024 celebrity brand valuation report and Virat Kohli continues to dominate India’s celebrity brand landscape. With a brand value of 231.1 million dollars (₹1,930 crore) Kohli has retained his top spot reflecting the unmatched power of his endorsement portfolio and social media influence. His dominance showcases the deep connection he continues to hold with both fans and brands making him the most valuable celebrity brand in the country.

The Leaders of the List

Following Kohli Ranveer Singh holds second place with 170.7 million dollars (₹1,380 crore) while Shah Rukh Khan stands strong in third with 145.7 million dollars (₹1,180 crore). Alia Bhatt has climbed to the fourth position with 116.4 million dollars (₹940 crore) underlining her rising influence across both cinema and brand endorsements. Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has moved into the top five with 112.2 million dollars (₹910 crore) reflecting his timeless appeal and renewed brand activity. Akshay Kumar ranks sixth at 108 million dollars (₹870 crore) with Deepika Padukone and MS Dhoni sharing seventh place at 102.9 million dollars (₹830 crore) each. Hrithik Roshan and Amitabh Bachchan round out the top ten with 92.2 million dollars (₹740 crore) and 83.7 million dollars (₹680 crore). Hindi cinema’s share of the box office declined to 39.5 percent in 2024 while South Indian cinema surged to 47.7 percent cementing its place as a powerhouse. OTT platforms contributed more than half of the revenues for major releases proving that hybrid viewing is now standard. Nostalgia driven re releases such as Jab We Met Tumbbad and Ghilli attracted large audiences reaffirming the pull of classic films on the big screen.

Umakanta Panigrahi Managing Director of Valuation Advisory Services at Kroll explained that the blend of OTT and theatrical releases has strengthened the industry by giving audiences more options. He added that re releases have brought people back to cinemas while OTT ensures wide access at home. This balance has redefined how India consumes entertainment and how celebrity influence is valued.
