Mattel has launched a Barbie doll inspired by tennis icon Venus Williams in India, part of its globally acclaimed Inspiring Women series. Priced at ₹2,999, the doll will be available exclusively at Hamleys from August 2025 and marks the official debut of the Inspiring Women collection in the country.
The Venus Williams Barbie captures her historic 2007 Wimbledon victory, a match that not only added to her seven Grand Slam titles but also became a defining moment in the fight for equal prize money in professional tennis. Dressed in her iconic white outfit from that game, the doll comes with a racket, ball, wristband, visor, and a signature green gem necklace, perfectly recreating the powerful presence she had on the court that day.
Williams collaborated closely with the Barbie design team to ensure that the doll reflected her personality, style, and the confidence she embodies. The launch follows a 2024 anniversary edition that celebrated nine female athletes worldwide, further cementing Barbie’s commitment to representing trailblazing women.
Since its creation in 1959, Barbie has spotlighted role models across more than 250 professions, always with the mission to inspire young girls to dream without limits. With this Venus Williams edition, the Inspiring Women line continues to highlight icons whose courage and resilience broke barriers and reshaped history.
